Gun Battery Fiume III

Gun battery Fiume III, was built by the German army at the port city of Fiume in present-day Croatia. Fiume is the Italian name for the city of Rijeka and it was exactly four Italian 90 mm. gun that were used. The guns had a range of 12 km. and could thereby protect the entire port from Allied attacks.

Bunkers (R 679) were built for two of the guns and these are still found in the area.
