Konferenz von Jalta

The Yalta Conference was held in February 1945 between the leaders of the United States (Franklin D. Roosevelt), Britain (Winston Churchill) and the Soviet Union (Josef Stalin). The summit was held in the Livadia Palace near the city of Yalta in the Crimea and was a continuation of previous meetings in Casablanca and Tehran.

At the meeting, the Allied war in Germany was discussed and plans for Germany in the postwar period  It was at this conference  that it was determined that occupied Germany was to be divided into four occupation zones, each controlled by one of the occupying powers: the Soviet Union, United States, Britain and France.

Historians have subsequently said that at Yalta, the first bullets to the Cold War were produced.
