Ammunition Depot built for the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) for storing mines and torpedoes.

13000 square meters with storage and rail tunnel cast in reinforced concrete.

The Organisation Todt was responsible for the construction and around 300 Jewish slave laborers stood for the execution.

There was made a spur line to the existing rail network so that the ammunition could unload directly onto rail cars via ramps and cranes running on rails in the ceiling.

Field Marshal Ervin Rommel was in November 1943 Appointed by Adolf Hitler to be chief of invasion defense in West Europe. One of Rommel's first tasks was an inspection tour along the Atlantic wall and December 23th 1943, he visit the ammunition dump in Dannes.

The depot was in preparation for the Normandy landings in June 1944 bombed by the allies.
